Grand National Picks: Ruby Walsh Likes Aintree

Capodanno is at the top of Ruby Walsh's list for the RandoxGrand National at Aintree.

The horse trained by Willie Mullins is increasing its distance after finishing fourth in the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham in its most recent race.

The expert was discussing Paddy Power Media's 'From TheHorse's Mouth' podcast 'Aintree Punters' Panel' alongside host Tom Nugent and another former top jockey, Mick Fitzgerald.

When questioned about his top picks for Saturday's main event, Walsh responded: "I believe Capodanno, Delta Work, and my choice is Desertmore House. Considering Ronnie Bartlett's insights on Stattler and Galvin performing well on soft ground, I believe there's a possibility that Desertmore House could also have a shot. Therefore, I've decided to include him in my selections, given his victory in the Kerry National."

Fitzgerald expressed his confidence in Meetingofthewaters, highlighting his strong finish in the race at Cheltenham. He believes that the ground conditions will not pose a challenge for the horse and has already placed a bet on him.

"Corach Rambler is undeniably an impressive contender, with clear considerations regarding the lasting impact of the Gold Cup. However, upon observing his victory last year, it is evident that he eased up halfway through the run-in, and he had the potential to win effortlessly."
