Mighty Eriu, a filly by Inns Of Court, surprised many by finishing as the runner-up in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot. She had been second in her debut race to Tunbridge Wells at the Curragh before being purchased by Qatar Racing. Despite starting at 50-1, she put in a strong performance under jockey Gary Carroll. Trainer Gavin Cromwell plans to enter her in another maiden race before considering bigger targets.
Meanwhile, Cromwell's My Mate Mozzie finished third in the Copper Horse Handicap and is now eyeing the Galway Hurdle and the Ebor for his summer campaign. Cromwell expressed satisfaction with his performances and is considering running him in both races.
