Versatile Brave Emperor Poised for Thrilling Qatar Race

Archie Watson's charge has become a familiar name across Europe, displaying an impressive racing record.

Brave Emperor, owned by Middleham Park Racing, is now prepared to venture into new territory as he seeks to add another prestigious Group victory to his resume in Qatar this Saturday.

This versatile gelding has showcased his talents on various racing circuits, amassing substantial prize money not only on home soil but also in Italy, Germany, France, and Sweden in the past year alone. The highlight of his previous campaign was securing victory in the coveted Listed Prix de la Californie at Cagnes-Sur-Mer, followed by an illustrious tour across Europe where he triumphed in three Group Three events and the esteemed Group Two Premio Vittorio Di Capua at San Siro in November.

As Brave Emperor settles in for his much-anticipated debut in the Middle East, he will compete at the same level in the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup during the prestigious Amir Sword meeting in Qatar. With a staggering prize fund of nearly £400,000 on the line, the winning connections stand to claim a substantial reward of over £225,000. Middleham Park's Tim Palin expressed his confidence in Brave Emperor, highlighting the horse's impressive rating in the race and the allure of the substantial prize money.

He also called attention to the extraordinary opportunity this presents for the fortunate half a dozen owners, who have already savoured triumphs in Milan and Sweden, as well as double successes in Germany and France. Brave Emperor's impeccable racing pedigree makes him the ideal globetrotting horse, having triumphed in a Group Two race and secured victory three times in Group Three events.

The journey began when he was initially purchased as a yearling by Robson Aguiar, and Middleham Park subsequently acquired him privately as a two-year-old, just before the breeze-ups. Since then, Brave Emperor has exceeded all expectations, taking everyone involved on an exhilarating ride. The hopes are high that he will continue to showcase his outstanding abilities and achieve further success this coming Saturday.
