Trueshan has set a goal to win at ParisLongchamp

Trueshan is set to aim for a third win in the Prix du Cadran at ParisLongchamp following his second-place finish in last week’s Doncaster Cup.

Alan King’s esteemed stayer has had a solid season, with a win in the Coral Marathon at Sandown and a fourth-place finish in the Goodwood Cup. Although he couldn’t match the younger Sweet William at Doncaster, King was pleased with the performance and is now targeting the prestigious Paris event, which Trueshan won in 2021 and again last year.

"I didn’t see the Doncaster race live as I was away, but I was very satisfied with his run," King said from Barbury Castle. "I haven’t seen him since, but everyone is pleased with him, so we’re likely heading for Cadran. I think Sweet William was probably just finishing strong in front, and Trueshan’s performance was solid. It’s good form. I’m just hoping Kyprios doesn’t show up!"

King is hopeful for suitable ground conditions for Trueshan on Arc weekend, noting, "We were fortunate last year with good ground on Saturday before it turned firm on Sunday. He enjoys his trips to Paris, so that’s the plan."

While King is focused on the immediate goal, he isn’t ruling out further plans for Trueshan. "We’ll see how the Cadran goes. He’s also entered for Ascot on Champions Day and the Prix Royal-Oak. We’ll take it step by step. He’s not been over-raced this season and seems very fresh, so we’ll see how things develop."
