Timourid`s seventh win in his career

Timourid, ridden by Joey Sheridan for trainer Paul Flynn, won the 1888 Restaurant Handicap with a strong performance. The seven-year-old, recording his seventh career victory, sat in second position for most of the race before taking the lead from Exquisite Acclaim in the final furlong and a half.

Despite being challenged by Livio Milo, Timourid held on to win by half a length, with Chris Hayes aboard the runner-up for Dermot Weld. Shigar finished in third place.

Flynn commented on the ground conditions, stating that they were perfect for Timourid, who prefers softer ground. He mentioned that the horse is challenging to place due to his preference for a level track and hinted at a possible return to hurdling in the future.

Stewards' reports note that Longbourn had to take a check near the finish line, and Shigar had burst a blood vessel during the race. An incident involving Longbourn and Livio Milo was also investigated, but no further action was taken.
