Tiffany shall miss the next race to prepare for Germany later this month

Tiffany will skip next week’s Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks to target a return to Germany later this month.

Trained by Sir Mark Prescott, Tiffany has shown steady progress since moving into black-type races at the end of 2023. The Farhh filly ended her three-year-old season with a Listed win in Hanover and began this year with a commanding victory at Baden-Baden in May.

On her return to the UK, Tiffany made her Pattern race debut and triumphed in the Hoppings Fillies’ Stakes at Newcastle, finishing two and a half lengths ahead of Karl Burke’s Group Two winner, Darnation. Her most recent run was the Lancashire Oaks at Haydock, where she finished second to Queen Of The Pride, a performance that set her up for a potential run at the Sky Bet Ebor Festival.

However, after a brief break, her connections have decided to focus on Germany. Tiffany will aim for the Group Two Baden Racing Stuten-Preis over a mile and a half at Baden-Baden on August 31, hoping to maintain her unbeaten record in Germany.

Dan Downie, manager of owners Elite Racing Club, commented: “She ran well, though it’s hard to say if she would have fared better at Haydock if she hadn’t raced just eight days earlier. She was beaten by a better horse, and we’re satisfied with her performance. After Haydock, we gave her some time off, which we believe will help her finish the season strongly. She won’t run next week, instead, we’re aiming for the Group Two race in Germany at the end of the month. On paper, it looks like a good opportunity for her, but we’ll need to see what she’ll be up against. If she performs well in Germany, there will be exciting options ahead, including races at the Arc meeting and Champions Day. If we aim for a Group One, we’d obviously want to see her win her next race.”
