Thrilling Prospect No Flies On Him Poised for Punchestown Weekend Appearance

Exciting up-and-coming hurdler No Flies On Him is set to make a return in the prestigious Madigan Group Irish EBF Sheila Bourke Novice Hurdle, a Listed race covering a distance of two miles, at Punchestown on Sunday.

This talented son of Westerner showcased his potential by triumphing over the formidable Jango Baie in a point-to-point event held at Knockanard last year. Following that impressive victory, No Flies On Him joined the renowned trainer Edward O'Grady and continued to make waves on his debut under official Rules at the esteemed Leopardstown Christmas meeting.

In that race, the gelding, owned by JP McManus, displayed his dominance by leading from the front in the 28-runner maiden hurdle. As a result, he currently stands at odds of 14/1 with the sponsors for the highly anticipated Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle. However, it's worth noting that he also holds an entry in the Baring Bingham Novices' Hurdle at the esteemed Cheltenham Festival.

Providing insights into the future plans for No Flies On Him, McManus' racing manager, Frank Berry, revealed, "The current plan is for him to compete in the Listed novice hurdle at Punchestown next Sunday. That's what we have in mind at the moment. He did have a minor setback which prevented him from participating in the Grade 1 event at Leopardstown, but overall, he's a promising horse."
