The Thurles Gathering Has Been Given Approval
The meeting scheduled for Saturday at Thurles will proceed as planned, after a thorough inspection carried out in the early morning.
Fortunately, the amount of rain that fell overnight was less than anticipated, and as a result, the track was deemed suitable for racing.
A statement issued by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB) confirmed this update.
According to the statement: “Following 1mm of rain overnight, Thurles is fit for racing and the fixture scheduled for today goes ahead. The ground is heavy and the first on a seven-race card is due off at 1.55 pm. The forecast is for a possibility of approximately 5mm of rain throughout today."
