The Friday Man secured his fifth career win at Tramore
The Friday Man (4/1) notched his fifth career victory at Tramore, as the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding claimed the Tramore Racecourse Directors Beginners Chase with champion jockey Jack Kennedy in the saddle.
Rated 111, The Friday Man entered the race with recent form-figures of 'P8PP.' He took the lead after the 9/4 favourite, Iris Emery, fell at the second-last, but was already travelling well and went on to win comfortably, holding off a late challenge from Shajak.
Kennedy remarked, "We were focused on getting him to finish the race since he hadn’t been doing that lately, but everything fell into place for him. He jumped a bit cautiously at first but really warmed up nicely."
"The fall of Iris Emery at the second-last helped, but I felt I had her covered."
