The Easter Classic is set to showcase Oh So Grand
The Betuk All-Weather Easter Classic Middle Distance Handicap, worth £200,000, will feature a full field of 14 runners on Friday's All-Weather Championships Finals Day at Newcastle.
Among the participants in the 10-furlong race is Oh So Grand, the winner of the Winter Oaks, who is aiming for a fourth consecutive victory. Oh So Grand has previously triumphed in the Winter Oaks Trial and a race at Newcastle in October.
Another notable contender is Base Note, who finished second last year and is also part of the Crisford team. Penzance, trained by Mick Appleby, is considered a strong contender as well, seeking a fifth consecutive win.
Elegant Man, trained by Adrian Murray, and To Catch A Thief, representing William Haggas, are also receiving attention in the betting, although the latter is currently listed as a reserve runner.
In the BetMGM All-Weather Championships Mile Handicap, which has 14 participants, the previous winner of the Burradon Stakes, Dear My Friend, is among the notable contenders. Other horses to watch out for include Kingdom Come, the victor of the Lincoln Trial, and French raider Fast Raaj.
The BetUK All-Weather Sprint Handicap boasts several recent winners, including Albasheer, Cover Up, Chipstead, and Fivethousandtoone, who carry the highest weights. Two additional horses are on standby as reserves in case any of the 14-strong field withdraw.
Nine Tenths, the winner of the Lady Wulfruna Stakes, is the favourite in the BetMGM Fillies' And Mares' Championships Handicap, which features nine contenders. Fire Demon and Sommelier are the frontrunners in the All-Weather 3 Year Old Championships Handicap, which has 11 runners.
Max Vega, a former Group Three winner, leads the pack of 13 contenders in the BetUK All-Weather Championships Marathon Handicap. The opening Listed Burradon Stakes has nine runners, including several entries for the Guineas.
