Sumptuary Law secured its next victory at Leopardstown

Sumptuary Law secured a hat-trick for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane at Leopardstown in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap, marking her debut on the turf. Having previously raced exclusively at Dundalk, the three-year-old Holy Roman Emperor filly was a surprise 11/1 winner in her first handicap appearance.

Ridden by jockey Colin Keane, and owned by Cian Kennedy, Sumptuary Law was well-placed behind the leaders along the rail. Despite a brief tussle between rivals in the final two furlongs, she surged ahead in the final stretch and held on to win by half a length.

Alabama Calling, ridden by James Ryan, finished second at 11/1, while Toriangel, trained by Sheila Lavery, took third at 11/2. The favourite, Concluding Call, could only manage sixth place.

Trainer Ger Lyons was pleased with Sumptuary Law's performance, noting her honesty and potential to excel over longer distances. He praised her determination and fitness, expressing confidence in her future success.
