“Success comes with a price”- Jamie Osborne

Jamie Osborne acknowledged that "success comes with a price" as his talented horse Ouzo may be at a disadvantage with his high handicap mark upon his return to British racing, especially with Royal Ascot on the horizon.

The eight-year-old has been on a winning streak, starting with a dead-heat victory at Ascot in September. Ouzo continued this success in Dubai over the winter, winning two handicaps at Meydan in January and February, which saw his handicap rating rise to 106.

Osborne expressed concern that this high mark may hinder Ouzo’s chances of winning at the prestigious Royal Ascot meeting. While initially planning to run in the Royal Hunt Cup over a mile, Osborne hinted at the possibility of switching to the Wolferton Stakes over 10 furlongs.

Despite Ouzo's recent success, Osborne noted that a rating of 106 may be too high for him to be competitive in such a prestigious event. He acknowledged the price of success in racing but remains optimistic about Ouzo's upcoming races and potential for the future.
