Strikin Viking's next port of call is Railway Stakes

Connections are hopeful that The Strikin Viking can live up to his namesake, Premier League footballer Erling Haaland, as he looks to build on a strong debut in the Gain Railway Stakes at the Curragh.

Named after the Manchester City striker, The Strikin Viking was purchased for 65,000 guineas by Middleham Park Racing and sent to trainer Kevin Ryan. After an impressive debut win at York earlier this month, he is now being considered for Group-level races.

Supplemented into the Railway Stakes, The Strikin Viking may face stiff competition from four Aidan O’Brien runners and other rivals. However, given his performance at York, director Tim Palin believes he has proven himself worthy of the step up to Pattern company.

Looking ahead, possible destinations for The Strikin Viking this summer include races in France and a potential return to the Knavesmire. While there is uncertainty about how he will fare against tougher competition, connections are excited about the challenge and the opportunity to compete against top trainers and horses.

Overall, Middleham Park Racing is optimistic about The Strikin Viking's future and the potential for success in upcoming races.
