Sixpack displays his strength in Roscommon
At Roscommon, Sixpack took advantage of bottom weight in the extended mile-and-a-half handicap.
On the run to the last furlong, the son of Sea The Moon had his opponents close at hand and started to assert 150 yards out.
Ben Coen sent him home by a length and three parts at 10/3 for Johnny Murtagh because the pursuers were unable to get any ground on him. At 9/1, Ameerat Jumaira maintained her lead over Jabbar by a neck (3/1f).
Coen said: “He was good, it probably suited a bit better today as we went a nicer gallop. I got the gaps when I needed them and he hit the line strong. I think nicer ground is a help to him as well and, hopefully, he can step forward from that. He had a very good run last time, but it was a bit of a messy race - they went slow and he wasn't able to get out when he needed to. Everything went right today, so it was nice.”
