In a display of exceptional skill, Joe Anderson orchestrated what might yet be the season's most remarkable ride, clinching his career's most significant win on Transmission at Plumpton.

Competing in the prestigious BetGoodwin Sussex Stayers Handicap Hurdle, Neil Mulholland's seven-year-old Transmission previously shined at  the last two races and was a 9/2 favorite now. However, an early mishap  nearly ended their chances when Anderson was almost unseated, desperately clinging to the horse's neck.

Demonstrating extraordinary equestrian skill, Anderson managed to regain his seat and keep Transmission's pace steady, eventually resettling his feet in the stirrups.

Despite the early setback, the long three-mile race gave Anderson ample time to recompose and strategize. Approaching the final stretch, he and Transmission emerged as front-runners.

Displaying resilience, Anderson guided Transmission to overtake Robert Walford's Hititi, securing a victory margin of two-and-a-quarter lengths.

Reflecting on the race, Mulholland admitted the unexpected turn of events, praising Anderson's exceptional recovery and horsemanship. He highlighted the positive impact of this victory for the team, the horse's owner, Paul McKeon, and horse racing in general.

Drawing comparisons with famed jockey Paul Carberry's notable recovery at Leopardstown, Mulholland expressed his elation over the outcome, a triumph for all involved in the racing community.

Post-race, Anderson shared his relief and spoke of the challenges he faced during the ride with Sky Sports Racing. He recounted the struggle to regain his stirrups and praised Transmission's jumping ability, which played a crucial role in their recovery and subsequent victory.

Anderson modestly suggested the replay might enhance his performance but acknowledged the favorable outcome, marking a memorable moment in his riding career.
