Ray Cody is eagerly anticipating the 1m4f DundalkStadium.com Maiden race on Friday evening as he plans to step up Sea Wave's challenge.
The four-year-old filly, a progeny of the renowned Sea The Stars, has showcased her potential on the Polytrack with two commendable performances. Last month, over an extended 10 furlongs, Sea Wave finished a respectable fourth place, narrowly missing out on a higher position.
Reflecting on her recent outing, trainer Ray Cody expressed his delight and credited jockey Danny Sheehy for delivering an exceptional ride. Cody firmly believes that as Sea Wave tackles longer distances, her true capabilities will be fully realised.
While acknowledging that the upcoming 1m4f maiden race may not feature the most formidable competition, Cody is wary of Joseph O'Brien's presence, particularly with How About No. Nevertheless, Cody remains optimistic about Sea Wave's prospects, highlighting her fitness and overall well-being. To further bolster her chances, renowned jockey Colin Keane has been secured for the ride, marking their first collaboration. It is worth highlighting that Cody has already experienced triumph at Dundalk with the victories of War Correspondent and Neddies Boy in February.
