Revoke’s debut was victorious

Ger Lyons showcased another top-class talent for Juddmonte as Revoke made an impressive debut in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Naas.

Lyons, already celebrated for the Group One-winning juvenile filly Babouche and another promising prospect, Red Letter, introduced Revoke, who was the 11-10 favourite. After tracking Oxford Rock for most of the race, Colin Keane let Revoke unleash her speed in the final furlong, leading her to a convincing win by four and three-quarter lengths.

“Colin said she did exactly what we expected based on her work at home, which is fantastic,” Lyons remarked.

It was Revoke's first time away and her first time racing on turf. Lyons often observes how horses perform on their debut to better understand their future potential. He is not hesitant to push for the black type this season, given her evident speed.

Lyons will monitor her progression closely, noting that she is only 410 kilos. He will assess how she advances from this race, and if she doesn’t show improvement, he might consider an alternative such as the Mercury at Dundalk.

Meanwhile, Aidan O’Brien, who is on a winning streak, added another victory with Garden Of Eden, a surprise 18-1 winner in the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden, which ended in a chaotic finish.

Apprentice Jack Cleary kept Garden Of Eden in a favourable position, and she performed well in the final stages. The original second-place finisher, Celtic Motif, was relegated to third due to interference with Twolatebabydoll.

Chris Armstrong, representing O’Brien, commented, “Both Garden Of Eden and Medici Venus, who was also interfered with in fourth, previously raced in the same maiden at Leopardstown, which was quite competitive. They were both very green at the time but have improved significantly since.”
