Racing at Clonmel Given Approval to Proceed
Clonmel has successfully passed its inspection, giving the green light for racing to commence from 1.10pm.
Lorcan Wyer, the Clerk of the Course for the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB), confirmed that the Clonmel track is in optimal condition for today's scheduled fixture.
"After conducting a thorough inspection this morning, we are pleased to announce that the track here at Clonmel is fit for racing. As such, we can proceed as planned,"
stated Wyer.
Providing an update on the weather, Wyer mentioned that there was an additional 4 mm of rain overnight, resulting in heavy ground conditions that will pose a significant challenge for the competing horses. The forecast for the day includes sunny spells with scattered showers.
Taking centre stage in the Grade 3 Surehaul Mercedes-Benz Novice Hurdle at 2.20pm is Harvard Guy, owned by Eddie & Patrick Harty. Harvard Guy, who is seeking his fourth consecutive win, has his sights set on a new milestone as he steps up in a trip to three miles for the first time.
