Prospects of Lunar Discovery Shining Bright at Doncaster according to Moffatt

Preparing for a challenging run at Doncaster this weekend, trainer James Moffatt remains optimistic about Lunar Discovery's ability to handle the extended distance of three miles.

The seven-year-old, previously showing promise as a bumper performer, has transitioned smoothly to hurdles this season, securing victories in her first two outings over obstacles.

Despite a narrow loss to Pawapuri in the Listed company at Haydock, Lunar Discovery displayed commendable form throughout. Notably, her recent second-place finish to Dontyawantme at Carlisle has only fueled Moffatt's confidence in her capabilities.

Looking ahead to the upcoming competition at Town Moor, Moffatt is enthusiastic about the mare's potential to outperform Dontyawantme. Speaking on the decision to increase the race distance, Moffatt emphasised Lunar Discovery's strong finishing abilities in all her previous races.

With a pedigree comparable to Bingoo, who triumphed over two-miles-five at Towcester, Moffatt is assured of her capacity to tackle the extended trip. Lunar Discovery's stature and impressive galloping style are expected to align well with the expansive track at Doncaster, further boosting Moffatt's optimism for a successful outcome.
