Price Drop for Majestic Force in Cheltenham's Novice Hurdle for Mares

Impressive point-to-point victor Majestic Force, with odds of 7/2, triumphed in her hurdling debut today, securing the I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle at Punchestown under the guidance of trainer Henry De Bromhead and jockey Rachael Blackmore.

Purchased for a substantial £120,000 following a dominant performance in a Lingstown point-to-point under the tutelage of Robert Tector back in December, this imposing daughter of Workforce made a striking return for her new connections.

Showing remarkable agility after the penultimate obstacle and navigating a challenging three-wide position as the favourite Dr Eggman (2/5f) made a move along the inside on the final turn, Majestic Force soared over the last hurdle, clinching victory by a commanding 4.5 lengths.

Reflecting on the impressive performance, De Bromhead's representative Robbie Power noted,

"She carried a weight advantage over the runner-up, which certainly worked in her favour for her initial foray into hurdling. Her victory in the point-to-point showcased her potential, and we are elated to secure a notable win for Duncan Angove, the owner".
"Rachael believed she could excel in a more competitive field, urging for a faster pace given the cautious start. Her imposing physique became more apparent as the tempo increased, resulting in vastly improved jumps. It was an auspicious beginning, and her remarkable endurance was evident till the end".
"Following the race, she exhibited signs of exertion, suggesting room for growth. While we contemplate potential targets in the coming months, her forte seems to lie in chasing events next winter".

Majestic Force has been earmarked for a potential appearance at the prestigious Cheltenham Festival in the mares' novice hurdle next month. Paddy Power has slashed her odds from 50/1 to 20/1 for the Grade 2 contest, anticipating an exciting showdown on the horizon.
