Pigeon House triumphed in Nursing Home Handicap

Punchestown festival winner Pigeon House (11/4) secured his second win of the summer with a victory in Ballinrobe's Hollymount Nursing Home Handicap Hurdle for trainer Jessica Harrington and jockey Mark Walsh.

The Saxon Warrior gelding, who earned his first win at Punchestown on May 2, recently finished third at the Galway festival. Today, he overcame some late waywardness to win by 1.75 lengths from Mordor.

Walsh commented, "The slower ground and the 2m2f distance suited him, as he tends to stay well. I had to take the lead because he didn't have much left to give. He’s a bit quirky and started to hang and idle in the straight, but when he felt the other horse closing in, he found more.”
