O'Brien secures another victory with a second remarkable champion

Trainer Joseph O'Brien achieved a remarkable double at Leopardstown today, showcasing the talent of two impressive females sired by Galileo Gold. This amazing feat was accomplished in the highly anticipated Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Heritage Stakes, with the favourite Goldana (4/9f) emerging victorious.

Coming back for the season, Goldana, a five-year-old mare, secured a slim victory in the Heritage Staks last month. She maintained a slight advantage over Power Under Me in the last furlong and managed to hold on for a half-length triumph.

Accomplished jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle had previously guided O'Brien's filly Galileo Dame, sired by Galileo Gold, to a remarkable victory in the first race.

After securing a double, O'Brien expressed his admiration for the deserving horse. He highlighted her consistent performance despite facing penalties in the previous season and her impressive start this year.

On her initial outing of the season, she faced a significant disadvantage as she encountered two great fillies and subsequently experienced some fatigue.

It is likely that she will return to competing against other horses. She performs exceptionally well on softer ground, so efforts will be made to ensure that the ground is not too challenging for her.
