O`Brien has two options Curragh or Sandown

City Of Troy’s highly anticipated next race looks likely to be either at the Curragh or Sandown.

While plans for Aidan O’Brien’s impressive Betfred Derby winner are yet to be finalised by the Coolmore partners, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby and the Coral Eclipse are the main races being considered.

Additionally, the Travers Stakes on dirt at Saratoga in August remains a possibility.

Speaking at the Curragh on Wednesday evening, O’Brien said: “I’m still waiting on the lads; they are still considering it. Obviously, it’s between here and Sandown, I’d imagine. We’ve got three months until Saratoga if we decide to go there. Those are the three races. Once they make a decision, we’ll proceed with the plan. Hopefully, we’ll know in the next week. I don’t think the trip matters to him really.”

City Of Troy’s stablemate, Los Angeles, who finished third at Epsom after previously being unbeaten, also has future plans dependent on City Of Troy’s next move.

O’Brien added: “Where Los Angeles goes will depend on City Of Troy. He’s a big, tough horse and will continue to improve. He ran a great race.”
