Donnacha O’Brien is considering running Porta Fortuna in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, but may also opt for the Commonwealth Cup. Despite not having won at the Royal meeting as a jockey, O’Brien secured his first success as a trainer with Porta Fortuna in the Albany Stakes last year.
Since then, Porta Fortuna has achieved Group One glory in the Cheveley Park Stakes and came close to winning the 1000 Guineas. O’Brien prefers to keep her at a mile but is open to running her in the Commonwealth Cup if the ground is soft.
O’Brien expressed uncertainty about his other runners for the week, mentioning Roscommon winner Naval Force and Yosemite Valley as possibilities. He sees Naval Force as having potential in the King George V Stakes, while Yosemite Valley's participation in the Queen Anne is not yet confirmed.
