Nurburgring secured a victory in the Guinness Galway Hurdle
Joseph O'Brien's Nurburgring surged ahead in the final stages to secure a commanding victory in the Guinness Galway Hurdle at Ballybrit this afternoon.
Ridden by JJ Slevin, the 13/2 shot received a flawless ride, tracking the early leader, Anotherway, in the €270,000 feature. Nurburgring took the lead at the second-last hurdle and soon demonstrated his dominance.
The Zoffany gelding had a few lengths' advantage over the last hurdle and maintained his strong gallop to win by a remarkable seven lengths. Ndaawi finished strongly to claim second place.
This win marked Nurburgring's fourth career victory and his third over hurdles. The Bronsan Racing-owned gelding had previously finished fourth in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham and third in a Grade 1 race at Punchestown last season.
