Neveradullmoment secures a victory at Galway
Neveradullmoment delivered an impressive round of jumping to secure a commanding victory in the Kenny Developments Handicap Steeplechase at Galway.
The seven-year-old gelding tracked Lake Chad before making his move two out. He extended his lead at the final fence and approached the finish well within himself.
As the 9/4 favourite, he quickly took control and cruised to a nine-and-a-half-length win under Mark Walsh. Macgiloney, at 16/1, finished second, well clear of Toofareastiswest (66/1), who was three-and-a-half lengths behind in third.
This victory marks Neveradullmoment’s third career win at Ballybrit, with his previous successes being over hurdles.
Trainer Philip Dempsey remarked: "He’s a different horse here; his jumping was excellent and Mark gave him a superb ride. I was wary of Macgiloney as he's a seasoned competitor, but our horse jumped brilliantly and won decisively. We’ll aim to find another race for him here in October, and he could be a contender for next year’s Galway Plate. We’ll take good care of him as he seems to thrive on this ground, suggesting he may be more suited to summer racing."
