Mullins Set for Major Success at Dublin Racing Festival

Willie Mullins is set for big success at the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown. But, Marine Nationale is a notable exception. It is a favourite, but not trained by Mullins. The festival starts this weekend. It will feature top contenders Galopin Des Champs and State Man. They both aim for consecutive wins in their races.

Galopin Des Champs is returning to form. He had a commanding win in the Savills Chase. He is a firm favorite for the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup. Fastorslow, trained by Martin Brassil, is his main competition. Fastorslow bested him in last season's Punchestown Gold Cup and the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase. Mullins might also enter I Am Maximus. The field may include Gordon Elliott's Conflated, the 2022 Irish Gold Cup winner, and his stablemate Coko Beach.

Mullins dominates the Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novice Hurdle lineup. Six of nine horses are still in the race, including favorites Predators Gold and Loughglynn.

In the Spring Juvenile Hurdle, Mullins has eight entries. They include Storm Heart and French recruit Salvator Mundi. The race has 13 horses. Barry Connell's Marine Nationale, not trained by Mullins, is the favourite in the Goffs Irish Arkle Novice Chase.

Mullins' entries in the Ladbrokes Novice Chase include Facile Vega, Gaelic Warrior, Il Etait Temps, and Sharjah. Rich and Susannah Ricci's racing manager is Joe Chambers. He suggested that Gaelic Warrior might avoid Marine Nationale.

The Grade Two Future Stars (C & G) I.N.H. Flat Race will feature last year's winner, A Dream To Share, among 13 confirmations.

On Sunday, State Man is likely to win his second Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle. He will face competition from his stablemate Impaire Et Passe and possibly Mullins' Echoes In Rain. He will also face Henry de Bromhead's Bob Olinger and Elliott's Fils D'oudairies.

The Ladbrokes Novice Chase may also see Mullins' Fact To File, which is currently the favourite. Ballyburn is another Mullins horse. It leads the market in the Tattersalls Ireland 50th Derby Sale Novice Hurdle. Farren Glory, from Elliott, is the next favorite.

El Fabiolo, trained by Mullins, is anticipated to win the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase en route to the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham. Mullins might also enter Dinoblue. Last year's winner Gentleman De Mee, and Saint Roi are also possible. De Bromhead's Captain Guinness and Brassil's Fastorslow are potential contenders.

Mullins' presence continues in the Coolmore N.H. Sires Hurricane Lane Irish E.B.F. Mares I.N.H. Flat Race with Aurora Vega and Baby Kate as his main prospects.
