Montassib's comeback from injury gives Fallon a victorious comeback

Cieren Fallon, who had been out of action due to a long injury, achieved his first victory thanks to the impressive speed displayed by Montassib, a horse trained by William Haggas.

In a familiar scenario, Montassib faced six competitors after a slightly slow start, but Cieren Fallon remained composed. The six-year-old horse, sired by Exceed And Excel and trained by William Haggas, showcased impressive acceleration to defeat Marshman by a narrow margin in the final moments of the race. Orazio, trained by Charlie Hills, finished third.

Fallon, who had been sidelined for four and a half months due to injury, expressed his thoughts on the victory in the Listed William Hill Cammidge Trophy Stakes, stating, "Last year, Montassib was a source of frustration for me because I believed we could have won the Ayr Gold Cup together. Nonetheless, we finished the season with a triumph at York. Recently, I worked with him and informed the trainer that he had shown further improvement and become faster. Today, he was an effortless ride, and anyone could have achieved victory on him."

Fallon also acknowledged the support he received during his recovery, saying, "I have been fortunate to receive excellent care at Oaksey House. They dedicated many hours to my rehabilitation. Given my extended absence, I took my time and did not rush my return. I wanted to ensure I was at 100 per cent. I have been back riding for the past three weeks, and the trainer has assigned me to work with calm horses to regain my confidence. I had a practice run yesterday, and I feel fantastic. I feel better than ever, and I haven't lost any racing sharpness."

"I'm in a really great position, I'm very lucky to be riding horses like this," Fallon concluded.
