Monmiral Secures Noteworthy Victory for Co-Owner Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson celebrated a successful day at the Cheltenham Festival as Monmiral, ridden by Harry Cobden and wearing the yellow colours of co-owner John Hales, triumphed in the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle.

Despite being a 25-1 shot, Monmiral, trained by Paul Nicholls, showed impressive form and outpaced Kyntara to secure the victory. Nicholls was pleased with the performance, noting that the horse had faced challenges in transitioning to a chaser but excelled in the hurdle race.

In another exciting race, Jeremy Scott's mare Golden Ace, ridden by Lorcan Williams, clinched a memorable win in the Ryanair Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle. The 10-1 shot demonstrated superb skill and speed, leaving the Irish favourites behind. Scott expressed his delight at the victory, highlighting Golden Ace's calm demeanour and strong racing abilities. The victory marked a special moment for Scott, who praised both the horse and jockey for their performance.

Gavin Cromwell's Inothewayurthinkin, ridden by Derek O’Connor, delivered a commanding performance in the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase. The 13-8 favourite carried top-weight with ease, securing a comfortable win for favourite-backers. Cromwell commended O'Connor for his skilful ride and expressed satisfaction at securing a Festival victory, highlighting the significance of success at Cheltenham.
