Molly Hall triumphed At Navan

Trainer Alan McIntyre celebrated the third victory of his career when Molly Hall led from start to finish under Niall McCullagh to win the Racing Next At Navan On Saturday, September 7th Handicap.

The six-year-old, who had previously won at Killarney in July, had a disappointing run when dropped in trip but showed improvement with a third-place finish at Tipperary earlier this month.

Sent straight to the front by McCullagh, the 14/1 chance initially came under pressure from Elzaamsan in the final stretch. However, Molly Hall proved her stamina by kicking on strongly and held off Enquire Within, who closed to within three-quarters of a length but couldn’t catch her.

McIntyre remarked, "Niall said everything went according to plan. She broke well, and he managed to give her a breather down the back. She’s a tough mare with a great attitude and really fights for her wins."

He added, "We had tried her over a mile and one before, which was a bit too sharp for her. The 1m6f today suited her well, especially on good ground. I currently have 11 horses in training, mainly for the Flat, with a few bumper horses as well."
