Minella Hollow’s good performance
Minella Hollow continued his winning streak in the final Racing Here Again On 2nd July (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race. Trained by John Nallen, the impressive victor showcased potential to reach high levels similar to dual Grade 1 winner A Dream To Share.
Having won his debut at Ballinrobe last month, the Beat Hollow bay was a less favoured choice this evening, going off at 10/3 under Johnny Barry after drifting from 9/4 odds. Sitting in second position behind race favourite Churchfield Sunset, the winner made his move early in the straight and took the lead with over a furlong to go.
While displaying some inexperience in the final furlong, Minella Hollow managed to maintain his lead and finish six lengths ahead. The favourite, trained by Emmet Mullins, settled for second place with Dramatic Licence, trained by Stuart Crawford, finishing third.
Nallen commented on the horse's performance, stating, "He's a nice horse. I don't know what way he'll go now, but we'll dream too!" He added that the horse had shown promise despite some setbacks and hinted at a potential break before upcoming races in Galway and Leopardstown.
Reflecting on the horse's abilities, Nallen mentioned that Minella Hollow worked well with Cristal Clere, a highly-rated flat horse, indicating potential in future competitions. He also discussed the possibility of selling the horse, highlighting interest from potential buyers. Despite previous attempts to sell the horse, Nallen remains open to considering offers and hopes to continue the horse's racing career successfully.
