The talented sprinter is part of a strong team from Nick Bradley Racing, set to compete in the Listed event on Saturday. Trained by Karl Burke, Marshman is one of the highest-rated contenders, sharing that position with William Haggas' Montassib.
Last season, Marshman showcased his potential by winning on his debut in France. Despite facing tough competition in subsequent sprint races, his campaign was cut short due to a pelvic injury. However, instead of pursuing lucrative opportunities in Saudi Arabia, Marshman's connections have decided to bring him back for the Cammidge Trophy after a 259-day break. Their aim is to surpass their previous success with Fast Response, who finished second in the race last year, narrowly missing out on victory to Vadream.
“I’ve seen videos of Marshman and I know Karl is really happy with him,” said Nick Bradley, managing director of Nick Bradley Racing. “Karl had a bit of a doubt about running over six furlongs on what is looking like potentially testing ground, but looking at the field I think we will have to take our chance.”
Bradley and his well-known group could also potentially have representation in the race through Grant Tuer's pair of Glorious Angel and Sophia's Starlight. The latter, who was a consistently impressive performer last season, managed to secure a victory in Ripon's prestigious Great St Wilfrid race, which was undoubtedly the highlight of their campaign.
