Lake Forest has plenty of options due to its high-class performance

Connections of Lake Forest are optimistic about the potential of their top sprinter following his impressive second-place finish in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. Owned by Tony Bloom and Ian McAleavy, the son of No Nay Never showed promise by winning the Gimcrack Stakes as a juvenile before a lacklustre performance in the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.

After missing a planned race at Haydock due to soft ground conditions, Lake Forest made a strong return at Ascot, finishing behind the impressive winner Inisherin. Racing manager Sean Graham noted that Lake Forest's ideal conditions are six furlongs on quick ground, and praised jockey Tom Marquand for his ride.

The team plans to campaign Lake Forest as a top-level sprinter, with a potential target being the July Cup. However, the horse will not be entered in the Newmarket July Festival. Graham explained that they would carefully choose races that suit Lake Forest's preferences to maximise his chances of success.

Looking ahead, Graham expressed confidence in Lake Forest's potential for further improvement and success. With the guidance of trainer William Haggas, they aim to make strategic decisions to develop Lake Forest into a competitive sprinter.
