Keatley's Rising Star Symbol Of Strength Sold to Hong Kong
Adrian Keatley's promising two-year-old, Symbol Of Strength, has been sold to continue his racing career abroad. The colt, who shocked many with a third-place finish at 80-1 in the Gimcrack at York, just a head behind the runner-up and eventual Middle Park winner, Shadow Of Light, confirmed his talent by winning the Group Three Sirenia Stakes at Kempton next time out.
Keatley had hoped to enter him in either the Mill Reef at Newbury or the Middle Park at Newmarket, but soft ground ruled out both opportunities. The decision to sell followed soon after.
"Symbol Of Strength has been sold to Hong Kong. We wish them well," Keatley confirmed.
Alongside his flat racing success, Keatley also enjoys success over jumps, having sent Gale Mahler to win a Listed novice hurdle at the Galway Festival. The versatile trainer now plans to run her at Cheltenham’s November meeting.
"Gale Mahler is in great form. After a break following Galway, she’s come back fresh, and we’re eyeing Cheltenham in November, either the Grade Two novice hurdle or the Greatwood," Keatley added.
