Joseph O'Brien is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Rogue Millennium for the upcoming season

Joseph O’Brien may have a busy travel schedule this season thanks to his exciting new recruit, Rogue Millennium.

The talented five-year-old mare had an impressive campaign under the guidance of trainer Tom Clover. She claimed victory in the prestigious Group Two Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot and secured a second-place finish in the elite-level Matron Stakes at Leopardstown, narrowly missing out on the top spot to Tahiyra.

Originally purchased for a modest 35,000gns by the Rogues Gallery syndicate, this daughter of Dubawi proved her worth and was subsequently sold for a staggering 1,650,000gns in December. Now, she will be under the tutelage of Joseph O'Brien at his training base in County Kilkenny.

During a stable tour on Attheraces.com, O'Brien expressed his excitement about working with this promising mare: “We are very happy with her. She looks great. Her training is all going smoothly, and she’s been impressive. She gives the impression that she’ll always appreciate better ground and she shows plenty of pace.”

“We won’t be shy about travelling her and have a long list of potential options for her in America where we think the style of racing will suit her. She’s a very exciting prospect to have in the yard.”

O'Brien is eagerly anticipating Lumiere Rock's upcoming four-year-old season, which may include a challenge against his father Aidan's dual Derby winner, Auguste Rodin, in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh.

Last season, the Saxon Warrior filly achieved victory in the Group Two Blandford Stakes at the same track. She also secured placings in the Ribblesdale and Prix de l'Opera before concluding with a commendable sixth-place finish behind Inspiral at the Breeders' Cup.

“We all got a real thrill from her win in the Blandford Stakes, and it was great that her owner Michael O’Flynn was there on the day to enjoy it with us,” O'Brien shared.
