Joorabchian Confirms Irish Oaks Winner Will Stay with Beckett

Kia Joorabchian, owner of Amo Racing, has assured that You Got To Me, his record-breaking 4.8 million guineas purchase, will return to Ralph Beckett’s yard should the Irish Oaks winner remain in training.

The daughter of Nathaniel enjoyed a stellar season, claiming victory in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh, finishing second in the Yorkshire Oaks, and later running below par in the St Leger. Co-owners Valmont and Newsells Park Stud chose to cash in after her three-year-old campaign, leading to her acquisition at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale, marking the third-highest price in the sale’s history.

Joorabchian commented on his commitment to continuity:

"Ralph Beckett wants her back, and I said as long as he doesn’t injure her, he can have her back! He’s done a fantastic job with her, and if she stays in training, there’s no reason to change what’s working.”

Investing in Proven Talent

Joorabchian’s Amo Racing has been heavily investing in both yearlings and proven horses as part of its growth strategy:

"We’ve spent years trying to find the next star, often at great expense. Sometimes, it’s better to invest in proven talent. She may have seemed expensive, but considering her Irish Oaks victory, she could turn out to be a bargain in the long run.”

Believing Stays with Boughey

Meanwhile, leading sprinter Believing will remain with trainer George Boughey after being purchased by MV Magnier for 3 million guineas. The four-year-old, who secured the Group Two Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh and placed third in the Prix de l’Abbaye, will continue her pursuit of a first Group One title.

Boughey expressed his delight at the decision:

"We’re thrilled to retain Believing for Coolmore connections. She’ll have a break before we sit down and map out her campaign for next year. It’s an honour to train for such a prestigious operation."

Both acquisitions underline the ambition of Amo Racing and Coolmore to maintain their positions at the forefront of international racing.
