Je Ne Sais Quoi might now be Haggas's rising star

Je Ne Sais Quoi may be a rising star after winning the Weatherby Bloodstock Pro Fillies’ Handicap at Ripon. Previously with William Haggas, the three-year-old was acquired for just 18,000 guineas and showed great promise in her latest outing. Under Sam James, she won by a length and a half at 16-1.

Trainer Grant Tuer, initially disappointed with her early performances, noted improvements and hinted at targeting a more competitive sprint next. Tuer also mentioned that Sophia’s Starlight, last year’s Great St Wilfrid winner, is unlikely to defend her title due to ground conditions and minor issues.

Karl Burke’s Toomuchforme, previously beaten on debut, made a strong comeback in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes, winning by three lengths. Clifford Lee attributed the improvement to better ground, despite Ripon not being ideal for her.

Lee also won the finale with Stratocracy (12-1), which overtook Due Consideration in the Bowel Cancer Screening Saves Lives Handicap. Jack Channon’s Caribbean Wind, finally breaking her maiden after previous near misses, secured a two-length victory with Callum Rodriguez aboard, showing a marked improvement from her last race.
