James Tate is optimistic about his filly's Group success

James Tate has high hopes for his filly Electric Storm, aiming for Group success in the upcoming Jenningsbet Nun Street Newcastle Open Chipchase Stakes. The four-year-old has had an impressive start to her career, with three wins in four starts, including a recent victory in the Cecil Frail at Haydock.

Despite her success, Electric Storm opted to skip Royal Ascot due to the fast ground conditions. Instead, she will debut in Pattern company at Gosforth Park on Saturday, returning to the all-weather surface where she began her career.

While Tate has an alternative option with the Group Three Prix De Ris-Orangis at Deauville, Electric Storm is likely to line up in the Chipchase Stakes. Tate believes that the all-weather surface is the best choice for her at this time of year.

Looking ahead, Tate had previously considered the Summer Stakes at York for Electric Storm but is now focused on winning a Group race. Depending on her performance at Newcastle, plans may change.

At the recent Royal meeting, another runner from Jamesfield Place, Royal Dress, finished behind in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes due to the fast ground. Tate believes she will bounce back in her next race, with several promising options in July and August for the filly.
