James Best's Family Victory in Classic Chase at Warwick

Jockey James Best achieved a victory in the Classic Chase at Warwick. He was riding My Silver Lining, a horse owned by his mother-in-law, Celia Djivanovic. My Silver Lining, a 17-2 chance trained by Emma Lavelle, outperformed Galia Des Liteaux. This prevented Dan Skelton from securing his seventh win of the day across various races.

He said it was the highlight of his career. He also noted the added emotional significance. This was due to the horse's family connection.

Elsewhere, Dan Skelton celebrated a win at the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton. Jay Jay Reilly, a 33-1 outsider ridden by Tristan Durrell, carried the victory. Durrell also won the handicap chase with Flegmatik earlier that Saturday.

Banbridge won the Silviniaco Conti Chase. Jockey JJ Slevin and trainer Joseph O'Brien were with Banbridge. They defeated Pic D'Orhy. This win made Banbridge a 5-1 favourite for the upcoming Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

The racing community faced a sombre moment. Notlongtillmay, trained by Laura Morgan, suffered a fatal injury in a fall at the final fence. A distressed Morgan spoke to ITV Racing, expressing her heartbreak over the incident. She lamented the loss of Notlongtillmay. He had been a significant presence in their stable. She described him as a beloved character. She mentioned the impact his loss would have, including on his companion pony, Ernie.
