Isle of Jura, trained by George Scott, is set to return to Ascot next month to contest the prestigious King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes after his impressive win in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot.
George Scott's star horse continued his rapid improvement with a comfortable victory under jockey Callum Shepherd. Scott was pleased with his horse's performance and how he handled the race, noting that the Isle of Jura came out of the race well and was bright the next day.
Scott had originally planned for Isle of Jura to be further back in the race but was pleased with how the race unfolded with Callum Shepherd positioning the horse perfectly off a sensible pace. Scott and his father were able to enjoy the victory as the Isle of Jura dominated the race.
After winning Bahrain's Triple Crown earlier in the year, Scott was uncertain how the form would translate back in the UK. However, he was confident in Isle of Jura's abilities and his potential for further improvement.
With a new rating of 119, Isle of Jura is now set to target the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Scott is hopeful that the ground will stay fast for the race and will keep an eye on the weather closer to the time. He believes Isle of Jura is ready for the challenge and is excited about what the future holds for his talented horse.
