Irish trainers select their best horses for the race
Michael O'Callaghan is sending Navassa Island to Carlisle to compete in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Eternal Stakes over six furlongs. The filly, a daughter of Territories, won her maiden at the Curragh last summer and has since been placed in Listed races and Group 3 company. Jockey Kevin Stott will be in the saddle for this race.
Thomas Dowling has two runners at Ffos Las. Sapristi will carry top weight in the Class 6 handicap over a mile and a quarter, with Finley Marsh riding. With one win in a claimer at Fairyhouse over a year ago, Sapristi has not performed well in three handicaps this season. Gianh River will be making his debut for Dowling in the Electrical Wholesales Swansea Classified Stakes over a mile, wearing a first-time visor. With no success in eight previous outings, jockey Ross Coakley will be on board.
John O'Donoghue's Currumbin will compete in the IDM Doors Handicap over a mile. With a rating of 76, Currumbin has shown promise, finishing just a neck behind the winner in a race at Killarney in May. This consistent performance gives him a strong chance in this event.
