Infinite Cosmos is optimistic to make a comeback at York

Given that she falls into the category of a horse who might flourish as an older horse under the knowledgeable coaching of Sir Michael Stoute, Infinite Cosmos will undoubtedly get a lot of attention when she runs in the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Middleton Fillies’ Stakes at York.

The daughter of Sea The Stars, who has only raced four times, is lightly raced and finished third in the Musidora Stakes at this meeting a year ago. Due to an injury, she was unable to attend Royal Ascot and did not make her comeback until Yarmouth in September.

Godolphin's Sapphire Seas defeated her there, but she had every right to feel rusty after her vacation and, moreover, ran with hope for the future.

“Free Wind and Bluestocking are obviously the form fillies, but the boss has his horses in good form and hopefully there is plenty more to come from Infinite Cosmos as a four-year-old,” her jockey Ryan Moore told Betfair. “You’d hope there is progression in her after just the four starts, and she comes into this in good form at home. I’m happy with her. I think the track will suit her, as will the recent rain.”

Free Wind, who ran Warm Heart to a head in the Yorkshire Oaks at the Ebor meeting, revealed that she liked the track and would be defending her championship for John and Thady Gosden.

Bluestocking, trained by Ralph Beckett, finished fourth in that race and finished second on British Champions Day at Ascot. Sapphire Seas, who was previously mentioned, would face Infinite Cosmos once more.

The filly owned by Charlie Appleby most recently finished second in the Dubai Balanchine in February, behind stablemate English Rose.
