Gamble Pays Off in Clonmel
In Clonmel, Listen To The Lady, owned and ridden by Joanna Walton, delivered on a betting gamble.
The 10-year-old mare's odds dropped from 22/1 to 7/1 before the race, ultimately starting at 5/1.
It was her third race in Ireland, with a 1lb handicap reduction and a shorter distance compared to previous outings.
Joanna Walton kept Listen To The Lady in a prominent position, and a mistake by Carlas Big Jim at the last hurdle allowed her to seize the lead, winning by three and a half lengths.
Carlas Big Jim came second at 13/2, followed by Intersky Sunset (10/3 favourite) in third.
Owner and jockey Walton commented on the horse's background and plans, mentioning a possible breeding endeavour.
Listen To The Lady had previously won six times over hurdles in Britain under trainer Sandy Forster.
Marie Harding achieved her first track victory since 2016.
