Hong Kong Cup a Possibility for Facteur Cheval

Facteur Cheval is being considered for a run in the Hong Kong Cup after finishing second to Charyn in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot. The five-year-old, who was runner-up to Big Rock last season, returned to Ascot following a strong campaign that included a Group One win in the Dubai Turf and a third-place finish in the Sussex Stakes.

Trainer Jérôme Reynier expressed pride in Facteur Cheval's performance, noting his consistency at the top level. "He’s so consistent at the highest level and deserves to win a race like that. Maybe next year, he’ll come back for races like the Lockinge, Queen Anne, or Sussex Stakes and secure a victory."

Before returning to Britain next season, Facteur Cheval may embark on international assignments, including a potential trip to Hong Kong, followed by another run in Dubai. Reynier said, “He’s entered in Hong Kong, and we’ll see how he feels. The Hong Kong Cup, run over 2,000 metres, could suit him better.”

Reynier is also preparing for a trip to Australia, where his unbeaten three-year-old, Lazzat, will race in the Golden Eagle on November 2. "He’s travelled well and is in good shape. It’s an interesting gamble to try him against top horses and the favourite, Ascoli Piceno. I’m excited for the race," Reynier added.
