Hollygrove Cha Cha Set for Festive Step-Up
Trainer Jamie Snowden is considering a leap to the Listed company for Hollygrove Cha Cha following her commanding victory at Fontwell, which extended her unbeaten streak to four.
The four-year-old filly, already a back-to-back bumper winner in the spring, began her hurdling career with a smooth debut win at Ludlow last month. At Fontwell, she confidently built on that success, surging clear under a mandatory penalty to win by seven lengths, barely breaking a sweat.
Reflecting on her performance, Snowden said, “I was thrilled with her. It’s fantastic to see her maintain her unbeaten record, and it would be great to keep that going a bit longer. She’s very talented, and her turn of foot after the last hurdle was particularly impressive. She made a slight error at the second-last, and I thought she might be in trouble, but she picked up beautifully and finished strongly.”
With her Fontwell success behind her, Snowden has his sights set on the Byerley Stud Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Taunton on December 30, a Listed race that would mark Hollygrove Cha Cha’s first foray into higher company.
“If she comes out of this race well, Taunton is a definite possibility,” he confirmed.
Hollygrove Cha Cha’s progression continues to excite connections, as the talented mare looks poised to take on stiffer competition over the festive season.
