Hernon believes in Dare To Dream’s good performance in the Irish Oaks

French-based Irishman Gavin Hernon is making a triumphant return to his homeland in search of his biggest career victory in the Juddmonte Irish Oaks with his talented filly, Dare To Dream.

Having grown up at his family’s stud farm in Cork, Hernon made the move to Chantilly in 2018 to start his own training business at just 26 years old. Despite his young age, Hernon has gained valuable experience working for esteemed trainers Jim Bolger and Andre Fabre before deciding to strike out on his own.

Hernon will be sending Dare To Dream, who finished fifth in the Prix de Diane, to compete in just his second race in Ireland. The filly has shown promise and improvement, and Hernon is confident in her abilities as they prepare to take on the tough competition in the Irish Oaks.

Jockey Alexis Pouchin will be riding in Ireland for the first time, but Hernon has full trust in his skills, citing his previous success in Group One races. The pair have been preparing meticulously for this moment, with a strategic plan in place to ensure Dare To Dream is in peak condition for the race.

Aidan O’Brien leads the charge with a strong team, including Port Fairy, Content, and Rubies are Red. Other notable contenders include Willie Mullins’ Lope De Lilas, David Menuisier’s War Chimes, and Ralph Beckett’s You Got To Me.

With a competitive field of 12 declared runners, including talents like Caught U Looking, Elizabeth Jane, and Hanalia, the stage is set for an exciting and unpredictable Irish Oaks.
