With an unwavering determination, they surged past their competitors in the final moments, triumphing by a narrow half-length margin at odds of 11/2. The Raceday Stewards conducted an inquiry into an incident during the race, involving Angostura, Ascending, Gaucher (GB), and Karacole (FR). The stewards reviewed the race recording and statements from the jockeys involved. After considering the evidence, they found that D.J. O'Keeffe was guilty of improper riding (first offence) according to Rule 214 and subsequently suspended him for seven race days, taking into account his previous record in such matters.
