Head drops Ramatuelle back to seven furlongs

Christopher Head has confirmed that star filly Ramatuelle will be competing in the Qatar Prix de la Foret at ParisLongchamp during Arc weekend.

The three-year-old recently tried her hand at a mile in both the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, finishing third in both races.

Despite initial plans for her to drop down to seven furlongs for the Prix Jean Prat, Ramatuelle will now be taking a break before her next race in ParisLongchamp on October 6. Co-owned by former NBA player Tony Parker, the daughter of American great Justify is expected to target the Breeders' Cup in November after the Prix de la Foret.

Head emphasised that the decision to focus on shorter distances for Ramatuelle is in her best interest and will maximise her potential for the remainder of the season.
