Trainer Eddie Harty is already setting his sights on the upcoming season for his talented Harvard Gut, who has enjoyed a successful campaign by triumphing in three out of four races.
The promising six-year-old, owned by J.P. McManus, demonstrated his potential as a top chasing prospect for the future.
Having secured victory in three consecutive handicap hurdles during November, December, and January, including two notable wins at Listed level, Harvard Gut's winning streak came to an end with a disappointing defeat at Grade 3 level in the Surehaul Mercedes-Benz Novice Hurdle at Clonmel on February 15.
Harty expressed his frustration, describing the race as chaotic and dominated by a two-furlong sprint, which played into the hands of Search For Glory.
Reflecting on Harvard Gut's achievements, Harty acknowledged the horse's exceptional progress throughout the season, surpassing what many horses achieve in a lifetime.
Confident in Harvard Gut's potential as a future chaser, Harty revealed his willingness to give the horse a well-deserved break, highlighting the possibility of focusing on chasing pursuits in the upcoming season.
