Harrington Optimistic About Hotazhell's Chances at Doncaster

Trainer Jessica Harrington is eagerly anticipating the performance of Hotazhell in the upcoming William Hill Futurity Trophy at Doncaster this Saturday. The talented colt, sired by Too Darn Hot, has secured victories in three out of five starts in his juvenile career, most recently triumphing in the Group Two Beresford Stakes at the Curragh.

With his stamina already proven over a mile and soft ground expected, Harrington is hopeful that Hotazhell can conclude the season with a prestigious Group One win on Town Moor. “Everything is looking good; he came out of his last race in excellent shape, and we’ve given him ample time to prepare,” she told Sky Sports Racing.

She expressed her satisfaction with Hotazhell's performance in the Beresford Stakes, noting that although he faced some interference from Aidan O’Brien's horses, he remained composed and finished strongly. “He’s been great for us. His initial race was unfortunate, getting stuck on the rail at Leopardstown, but that experience has helped him learn to relax.”

To keep him calm in the lead-up to the race, Hotazhell will wear a red hood during the parade and before the start. Harrington believes the galloping track at Doncaster will suit him, and while he may eventually tackle a mile and a quarter at three, the plan is to start him off over a mile, with entries in both the English and Irish Guineas pending in the spring.
